(By N.Thyagarajan)
Now there is a good turn taking place in Arasi megaserial, being telecast on Sun TV channel on all working days in the prime hours. The serial which has recently completed its 500th episode, with the tremendous acting of R.Radhika Sarathkumar is heading for its supenseful turning point in its story.
As per the story line the DGP Radhika (Arasi) is kidnapped and in order to pacify the press over the absence of the DGP, Arasi’s daughter, Selvi (Who is also Radhika) is being introduced by the police officials, to act like her mother. On Monday, the police officials show her some of the clippings of the DGP and wanted her to walk like her mother. On Tuesday, she has been asked to talk in a press-meet and she fools all those who attended it. Not only that, that the industrialist Viswanath and Selvi's own husband GJ (Arvind) are also fooled. More than that an ex-MP who meets the DGP also surprised to see that there was a change in the DGP’s behaviour. When Selvi talks with her own husband he himself taken aback that it was the DGP who is also his mother-in-law (Arasi) who talks with him.
Now, the suspense of the story is who kidnapped the DGP Arasi? The story takes different shapes, but yet interesting to watch everyday the mega-serial on the Sun TV Channel. The audiences expect that there must be soon an end to the suspense of the DGP kidnapping. What Radhika as the DGP Arasi and Selvi has not done so far she does it now.
Earlier, Radhika was playing the two different roles in two different get up and now the actress has to play both the roles with one appearance, enriching the value of the small-screen soaps. For example, if she meets the public, then she should act as the DIG Arasi and if she meets the police officials, she has to move with them as normal Radhika, i.e as Selvi. A role and situation like this could be performed only a person like Radhika alone and not by anyone.
