CM FELICITATES MANORAMA

Tamil film Comedian Manorama who has completed her fifty-years career in Tamil films was felicitated at a function held in recently.Besides, Tamil she had acted in other Indian vernaculars films. She has received a doctorate from the Annai Sathya Bama University. She recently received her doctorate from an American university for her outstanding performance in more than 1500 films and the actress has made a record in the Guinness Book of Records.

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi in his address has said that he knew the actress quite a long time and she undertook the sorrows and happiness of his families on various occasions. He said, when he was admitted in the Chennai General Hospital due to an accident in the year 1967 while he was returning from Thanjavur, the comedian and her mother who came to see him saw a woman was weeping behind his bed. When queried about the woman, the CM wife Dayalu Ammal told her, that Karunanidhi secretly married the woman who was weeping beside him. She is known as Rasathi Ammal. The secret of the marriage was known only to very few of the CM's family members till then, had become open secret to all after Dayalu Karunanidhi broke her silence. The CM recalled, that his family was open to the actress Manorama as all they considered her as their own family member. The CM praised the actress to live long and wished her many more celebrations like this.

Director K.Balachander that there was none after the comedian in the Asian continent. Rajinikanth in his speech has said, that she was the first woman to receive him when he came to the cine field for acting. The actor recalled that he had acted in the film Kuppathu Raja. He wished the comedian all success in her life.

Kamal said that there were many as his mother took him on their laps and the comedian Manorama was the one on whose lap Kamal was taken care. The actor praised the comedian's love, care, affection and helping tendencies to others would always be cherished for many more years to come. He said, that he was ready at any time to participate in any of the functions in future that might take place in future for the comedian.

Accepting the wishes of all, the comedian who was in her emotional speech said that she was very fortunate to receive such benediction from various persons. She said that she was fortunate to receive the honour from the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi who had been associated with her quite a long time. She said she had acted in the drama Manimagudam written by Kalaignar Karunanidhi. She thanked to all those who participated in the function.
