Kamal Hassan has appealed the people of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to strength their relationship without the intervention of others. The actor who was honoured at the Kannada Film Industry's platinum jubilee celebrations further appealed politicians not to mingle their politics with art. He said that people of Karnataka and Tamil Nadur like brothers and any problem between them could be sorted out without the interference of the politics. Kamal was addressing his inaugural speech on Sunday evening in Bangalore. He recalled that Karnataka had given super films stars like Rajinikanth.

Supporting the views of Kamal Hassan, actor Vishnuvardhan said that he really liked the speeches of the actor and also appealed that the artistes should be always away from politics. He also praised that Kamal Hassan had a lot of supporters in the State.

Actor Ramesh Aravind, translated Kamal's speech in the Kannada language and for each and every verse of Kamal's translation had a wonderful appalause.

Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa had inaugurated the function.
But several well-known veteran Kannada artists were conspicuous by their absence.

Tamil superstar Rajnikant too couldn't make it to the function despite the fact that he accepted the invitation.
